Russia temporarily halted its bombing campaign against Ukraine's capital. The pause coincided with a high-profile diplomatic visit to the city. Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner traveled to Ukraine during this period. Moscow had agreed to suspend strikes in Kyiv while the U.S. envoys were present. This diplomatic respite allowed for a brief period of calm in the region. The suspension of hostilities, however, was explicitly temporary. Once the visit concluded, the respite quickly came to an end. Russian bombs began falling once more on Kyiv shortly after the envoys left.
